Faculty of Dentistry

Applications are invited for the following appointments in the Faculty of Dentistry, from as soon as possible. The appointments will normally be made on a four-year fixed-term basis, with consideration for tenure after satisfactory completion of a second fixed-term contract.

Clinical Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Oral Medicine (Ref.: RF-2008/2009-279) (Appointment will be made under the Centenary Recruitment Plan (CRP). Information about the CRP can be obtained at https://www.hku.hk/apptunit/.)

The Faculty is seeking to appoint a Clinical Associate or Assistant Professor with a specialist qualification in Oral Medicine. The appointee must have a dental degree and/or a medical degree with a track record of research publications and clinical experience in oral medicine. The applicant applying for the post of Clinical Professor/Associate Professor should hold a Ph.D. degree (or its equivalent) and has experience in supervising postgraduate students for research projects. The appointee will conduct teaching and supervise undergraduates and postgraduates in the management of patients with oral mucosal diseases with systemic manifestations. Clinical Professor/Associate Professor in Oral Radiology (Ref.: RF-2008/2009-280)

The appointee is expected to have recognized clinical qualifications, specialist training in oral radiography, high international academic profile and be good in research. The job will involve clinical training of dental undergraduate and postgraduate students, provision of consultative service, and conducting research in oral radiology. Clinical Associate/Assistant Professor in Endodontics (Ref.: RF-2008/2009-281)

The appointee will contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Endodontics, and participate in research related to the practice of Endodontics. A Master's degree in Endodontics is expected, together with a proven interest in research or a record of publications in peer-reviewed journals. The successful candidate will be able to pursue a specialist title recognized locally by the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine. Collaboration with various institutions in China is also possible. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.
